If you have root-level access to a server, this means that you'll have full control of it. In other words, you can set up any server-side app irrespective of the changes that it'll make to the software environment on your server, and you're able to both access and modify any file, which includes system files, and modify various settings. This can be done by connecting to the server as a root user that has full privileges to do all these things and to make other users, including users who also have full privileges. The connection can be established using a web-based graphical interface or a Secure Shell console. For safety reasons, it's recommended that you create a different user for your everyday work and employ the root user only when you have to modify the server or to install software that may be needed by a script-driven app that you would like to run.
Full Root-level Access in Dedicated Servers
If you get one of the dedicated servers which we supply, you will have full root-level access and you will be able to do anything that you are unable to do using a shared hosting account - to change the server-side PHP settings, to set up frameworks or media streaming software, and many others. You may order the server with no website hosting Control Panel and do everything through a console, unless you install some third-party tool, or you can order it with cPanel or DirectAdmin and use a web-based graphical interface to manage your sites and many system settings. In all 3 cases, you will have complete control of the machine. The significant amount of resources that you'll receive makes our dedicated plans an excellent choice for any type of content that you want to have. The servers that are ordered with the Hepsia Control Panel are much easier to maintain, however the root access to such a machine is limited.
